Virginia M. Borsa
Virginia Borsa is a post-doc researcher at the Institute of Advanced Studies (IUSS) of Pavia and University of Florence – department of NEUROFARBA. She is one of the twenty five researchers involved in the AIRAlzh Network. She graduated in cognitive neuroscience at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University where she also obtained her PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience. She worked at the Free University of Bolzano in the context of the NEURO-BILI-AGE research project, aimed at studying the neuroprotective effects of bilingualism during ageing. From 2013 to 2017 she worked at San Raffaele Hospital as clinical neuropsychologist, performing neuropsychological assessment and cognitive rehabilitation in neurodegenerative and vascular patients. In 2016 she had a teaching position at the faculty of psychology of San Raffaele University. Her research activity focuses on the multiple faces of cognitive control mechanisms and the neural correlates of semantic memory, through a multidisciplinary approach (e.g. behavioral, neuropsychological and neuroimaging techniques), in both healthy and pathological populations.
